The idea behind the name has got a lot to do with where the band is, and the way we have survived as people in general – whether it is home life, the industry you work in, relationships, habits, vices and the like.

You can get caught up with the day to day grind, people’s negativity and others trying to influence you into their way of thinking. Its easy to yield and go with the majority, living the way you are told. Circle Above is about a way of not being brought down to a level that you don’t deserve, its about rising above a mainstream way of life of being told what to think, feel, write, watch and listen to. It’s about taking a high road, and letting the vultures underneath you destroy each other whilst others in the world Circle Above. It’s about choice, living through the hardest things you’ve ever had to live through and coming out the other side, promising yourself you’ll never be in that place ever again.

You always know when another person in the room is living there with you. They’ve seen it, been through it and chosen to live life to their own plan. In no way is it about being above anyone, or thinking others are beneath you, its about knowing that there are a group of others in the world that don’t get caught up in prejudice, racism, chauvinism, fascism and letting stupidity breed by people thinking they are better than anyone. So in a way, (ironically) it’s an ‘underground’ way of living, where subcultures and left-of-centre music has dwelled for years.

For us personally, we feel that nothing is hidden anymore, and for our own sanity we still need the underground, we’re just sitting somewhere else. Come join us whenever you like, the view from up here is amazing.
